Content Management

Manage multiple websites in any language, complex content architectures, and editorial teams across markets from a single installation. Sulu gives you the power to handle complexity without the overhead that usually comes with it.

Why it's different

Handle real complexity without slowing editors down

Built for scale, not just sites

One platform for complex portals, multibrand architectures, and digital properties that grow faster than a simple site tree can handle.

Editing that doesn't get in the way

Clean content structures, live preview, and an interface your editors will actually prefer. Without training sessions every time something changes.

Three content models. One admin

Page trees for structured editorial sites. Article modules for high-volume content. PIM for data-driven products. Sulu handles all three in a single installation, without workarounds.

Platform Capabilities

Everything you expect from a platform, nothing bolted on

Ten webspaces, fifteen languages, one admin. Sulu's Webspace model gives every site its own page tree, URL structure, and theme while sharing templates, assets, and user management across all of them. Add a new language with a single configuration change. Export content via XLIFF or use Sulu.ai for fully automated translations. Language fallbacks and shadow pages keep every locale consistent, even when translations are incomplete.

Every page type in Sulu is defined as a template: structured in XML, version-controlled with your codebase, and composed from reusable property types. Developers build the structure once. Editors fill it in with live preview, without touching the underlying configuration. Custom fields, nested blocks, and complex layouts are all handled through the same system. No workarounds, no page-builder lock-in. The same template structure can be reused across webspaces, which keeps large projects consistent without duplicating work.

Define exactly who can edit what and on which site. Sulu's role model lets you assign granular permissions per webspace and action. Editors see only what they need to manage. Sensitive content stays protected without complex configuration. Publishing workflows keep content moving through review and approval before it goes live, without requiring a separate tool to manage the process.

Search visibility built into the content structure, not added as an afterthought. Human-readable URLs, automatic canonical tags, and language-specific metadata are all handled by the platform. Multilingual sitemaps are generated automatically, with hreflang support for correct locale signaling to search engines. Sulu.ai generates meta titles and descriptions from your content, so editors don't have to write them manually for every page.

Every file your content teams work with (images, videos, documents) organised in one place and connected directly to the content that uses them. AI generates metadata automatically.

For Developers

Traditional or headless. Your call.

Sulu renders content with Symfony and Twig out of the box. Server-side, fast, and straightforward to deploy. If your project needs a decoupled frontend, switch to headless: REST and JSON:API are built in, and live preview works in both modes. You can also combine both approaches within a single installation, rendering most pages traditionally while using the API for specific interactive components. The architecture decision stays with your team, not the platform.

The attention to UX by the Sulu team impressed me from the very beginning.
